Our contribution to sustainability
We are the children of different generations and are all concerned about the environment. That’s why we are also passionate about living up to our perfectionist, passionate mindset when it comes to sustainability. Our significance on the market and our opportunities are still small, but as soon as we grow, so too will our chances of mother nature making life easier.
1% of sales goes to One Tree Planted.
For each sofa ordered, 12 to 28 trees get planted.
All of our wood comes from sustainably and responsibly managed forests and bear the FSC logo. But that’s not all. We don’t just want to offset what we take from nature – we want to make an additional contribution to CO2 reduction across our supply chain. That’s why we donate 1% of our sales to One Tree Planted.
100% plastic-free packaging
When large items need packaging, this requires a great deal of packaging material – the drama of the furniture industry. We were adamant: 0% plastic. Sounds simple. However, when a product is sent on its journey, it is usually packaged in plastic as this material provides excellent protection, is extremely flexible and offers a wide range of individual solutions on the market, which makes it indispensable for manufacturers.
Together with our supplier, we spent seven months working meticulously on our packaging. We are glad we invested this time and are proud that we’ve managed to completely avoid using plastic.
Climate-neutral transport to your door.
Your Sensoo is sent to you in a climate-neutral fashion with DHL GoGreen. So far, so good, yet still unsatisfying. This isn’t enough in the long run – as soon as we have emerged from the costly start-up phase and have a secure market position, we will completely offset all transport-related carbon emissions across our delivery chain.
Made in Europe for short transport routes
Our manufacturing site is close to the German border in Olesnica (Poland). Over the last 30 years, our parent company – rom1961 – has built up a completely unique production facility. So sind wir nah an unseren Kunden, kommen ganz ohne Schiff- oder Flugzeugtransporte aus und minimieren auch die Transportwege über Land. The extent of this positive impact on our environmental footprint surprised us.
